Words have power.

We fear vulnerability, we fear rejection.

We speak through lies, through sarcasm, through mere slivers of truth.

We’ve been raised in a culture that beats around the bush.

In the middle of every room sits a large white elephant.

Don’t speak your mind because what if someone disagrees?

Don’t lay your heart down, because what if someone doesn’t pick it up?

These are lies that have been spoken into our society

Because the enemy knows the truth.

He knows that words have power.

One utters the name of Jesus, and demons flee.

That is the Word. That is the Truth.

I love you. I’m sorry. I’m feeling hurt.

I forgive you. I appreciate you. You encourage me.

These phrases seem so simple, but the weight they carry is grand.

We have the authority to speak life.

We have the authority to encourage and lift up.

To call out and to challenge.

We have the authority to raise up better people.

To improve the lives of those around us.

We have that authority,

If we understand the power of our words.

This is the reality the World Race has illuminated.

The kind of community Jesus preaches about.

The kind of community He encourages.

One that invites vulnerability, and never fears it.

One that welcomes failure, because of the growth it produces.

Words have power.

Pray with declaration.

Speak in truth.

Lay down your heart

Because no matter what God will pick it up.
