God- “go talk to that woman”
Sami- “but I don’t know what to say, I wish I had something to giver her, I should have picked up those flowers, it will be awkward, I don’t want to.”
God- “go talk to her, I will provide, trust me.”
Sami- “but I have already passed her, she wont want to talk, I have no conversation starter, she might be in a hurry.”
God- “trust my voice”
Sami- “Fine, but I am only doing this so I can say I live in the Spirit!”
I turn around to see a huge flower pot I hadn’t noticed before. Perfect! I will pick her a flower and say, “God bless you, How are you today?”
I choose a vibrant yellow flower and begin to approach the lady, I get about ten yards away when she abruptly stands up and walks away from her picinic table.
Sami- “Huh?”
God- “See, I told you I would take care of what you had to say. It is not about your ability it is your availablitiy. I need your willingness to do my will.”
I looked down at the flower in my hand.
God- “I get to bless you when you follow my lead, this is a flower for you.”
I just smiled like a fool and stroll signing along the boardwalk letting the sun aluminate the bright flower in my hand. Then a bee began to follow me. It was buzzing around the flower pestering me and distracting me from dwelling on what God was saying.
And it hit me, Satan is a bee. What God used to bless me Satan used to distract me. So I had to lay that beautiful flower down in the rocks along the beach. But for a season that was my special gift from God, I needed to lay it back down though so I could really dwell in the Spirit because no earthly blessing could ever compare to being in the Spirit.
So simple and sweet but that 5 minutes this morning brought me gently back into a place where I feel alive and in step with the Spirit.
The Spirit is always speaking, we just aren’t always listening!
