Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that we made it to Cambodia .  It was a long journey from Santo Domingo , Dominican Republic to here. We left Tuesday March 3rd at 3am and flew to Miami and then to (LA) Los Angeles . We spent one night in LA and then flew to Tokyo , had a short layover, and then onto Bangkok , Thailand . We spent one night there and then took a bus to Phnom Penh , Cambodia . In total, we were traveling for 82 hours straight. It was quite a journey to bring us halfway around the world. I just wanted to let you all know that I made it here safely and slept well on the plane. Surprisingly, I was not even tired when I arrived and did not have any jetlag. We also did a whirlwind tour of the city ( Phnom Penh ) when we arrived to get acquainted with our new culture and location.

Our ministry here is in two orphanages. We will be at Good Sheppard Orphanage teaching English, songs, and Bible stories on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and we are at Love in Action Orphanage on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays loving on the kids, doing arts & crafts, and Bible story dramas.

It is very different here from the Caribbean . Admittedly, it is nice to be in a city. It is great to be able to just walk to the market, coffee shop, etc. Although it is blazingly hot here. I have never experienced such ridiculous humidity with excessive heat… EVER!  But, I am getting used to it. 🙂  The Caribbean was barely a warm-up.  It is a big deterrent when wanting to go anywhere. Welcome to Asia ! But, I will say that we are very blessed to be here. We are staying at the YWAM base here and for the first time this year, every meal is a balanced meal.  J Up to this point, I did not eat many fruits, vegetables, or meats (especially in Haiti ). Now, every meal has fruit, vegetables, meat, and either rice or noodles. It is FABULOUS!
