There is a distinct difference between our two ministry sites. We spend Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings and afternoons at Good Sheppard orphanage. We have two morning classes. I teach the older more advanced students and Tim and Amanda share the responsibility of teaching the younger beginner class. In the afternoon, we have fewer students and only one class. I teach that class English as well and Tim is the “assistant to the teacher.” Our team also does arts and crafts with the kids as well as dramas and skits to demonstrate various stories from the Bible. The kids are picking up on new vocabulary, verbs, and using full sentences very well. As their English teacher this month, I am so proud of them! I love my little Cambodian kids.

On Thursday and Friday afternoons and all day on Saturdays we go to Love in Action orphanage. We spend the afternoons just loving on the kids when the get home from school. Then Saturdays are filled with songs, dramas, arts & crafts, and this past Saturday we had an elaborate elementary school style “field day” for the kids. The event was complete with the kids divided into six teams doing numerous fun games like limbo, three-legged race, potato sack (with bandanas), leap frog, skipping, running, freeze tag, crab crawl, and more. One of the other world race teams joined us last Saturday for the big day. Their assistance was much needed as it was quite the event to orchestrate and the boys did an excellent job of demonstrating how leap frog and other activities were to be acted out. I also thoroughly enjoyed being the lead organizer and master of ceremonies of sorts.
