So, this is a little belated, but it's also really wonderful!
Two weeks ago I was in Georgia for training camp! During one of our sessions Michael Hindes spoke. He began by telling us a story about one of his sons. I could tell that it was going to be an emotional story because his eyes were already glistening by the time he opened his mouth. The way Michael talked about his son with so much love and compassion brought tears to my eyes as well. I just wanted to run up to him and give him a huge hug!
Then the next thing I hear is, "What's your name baby?"
"Sammie Jo", I reply sheepishly.
"Come here", he says.
All of a sudden he wraps me into a great big bear hug! And he just held me close for a while.
Ok, just a mental picture for y'all, (yep I say y'all now!), I am standing in front of more than 100 people, my arms wrapped around this man I literally just met with tears streaming down my cheeks.
Normally I would be highly embarrassed, but all I could focus on in that moment was how loved I felt.
I can't remember what Michael was saying during this time, because all I heard was,
"Sammie Jo, my daughter, my precious princess, I love you more than words can express, I delight in your mere existence. You are mine! You are my beloved and I will never leave you nor forsake you! I am holding you even now and will never let go!"
God spoke to my very heart! It was seriously the coolest thing that has ever happened to me!!!
God could have left me with that, and I would have been more than happy, but my God is not predictable or small! My God moves mountains and brings the dead back to life!
Well, I'm a crier, so by this point I am bawling and the Lord continues to speak to me,
"You are mine, and through you, I will pour out my love onto the nations. You are powerful because I say you are. Do not fear; I have fully equipped you daughter! The Holy Spirit that lives in you will move through you by my power and love and you will proclaim the Truth that will set my children free!"
"Ok, WHAT!?!?!? I'm gonna do what?", is all I could fathom.
And in the most comforting way my Father replied, "You are my Warrior Princess, no worries, I got your back! Now go girl go!"
So, here I go Lord…
