I learned from some very wise people that others won’t follow you if they don’t know where you’re going. So how do you convey where you’re going? You paint a vision.
Usually, you do that through words and describe stuff, but to be honest, I still have no idea how to do that. What I do know is how to draw so in the middle of doing some bible study homework, He gave me a picture of where I’m going.
In Revelation 7:9, you see people from every tribe and tongue bowing down and worshipping God. People from all over the world praising God and honoring Him.
Who of those people will be there because of you?
Yes, there will be people from home, but what about those on the other side of the world?
Do you understand that the same way it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a great army of supporters to send missionaries? Five dollars. Twenty dollars. It adds up. But more than that, it adds up to me being able to go to places others can’t in order to share the love of Jesus. That great multitude of people that will be there rejoicing and worshipping God? You get to rest in the fact that people from Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania, Nepal, India, Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia will be there because of you. Your support today changes lives tomorrow. It provides hope to that woman stuck in trafficking. It provides love to the orphan. It provides food to the homeless. It provides Truth to those in need of a Savior.
Understand that we all have specific callings on our life and though we all can’t go overseas, we can all play a part through prayer, encouragement, and giving. My question to you is, what part are you supposed to play? I strongly encourage you to pray about how God wants you to support this mission trip. Maybe God would have you be a prayer partner. Good! I need lots of prayer! It could be that He wants you to provide encouragement along the way. This is a marathon and encouraging words are good for the soul. Maybe God wants you to help financially. I have multiple fundraisers going on that I could use help with and people who are willing to raise money for me can go a long way. Or He could be asking you to give of your own money.
I don’t know what it is God wants you to do, but I’m going to trust that He is going to speak clearly to you and that you will be obedient to His leading.
Seriously, I can’t thank you all enough for your support so far and I just pray that your relationship with God would continue to grow and that you would be sharing the Gospel in your mission field whether it be in an office, a school, or HEB. Be the light that God has called us to be and know that He will use you if you are willing to let Him.
