I decided I should probably give everyone an update on everything that I may need to catch you up on so this may not be some super profound blog post haha

First off, our squad WILL be leaving in October! Praise the Lord!! I wrote last month about how we were short on people. Usually a World Race squad consists of anywhere from 40-60 people. Us? We have 28. We had been waiting to hear if our route was going to be canceled or if they would still let us go with a really low number. They’ve given us the green light! Yay!!!

Second, some of my squadmates are still short on funds for our first deadline which needs to be met before we go to Training Camp on August 10th so if you could please pray for them, that would be so appreciated! There are still about 10 people who haven’t met the $5,000 yet and we need each and every one of them to make it! Pray, pray, pray!!!

Third, if you have me as a friend on Facebook, you may have seen me post about purchasing my plane ticket for Training Camp that begins in less than two weeks. I’m insanely excited to go!! It’s a completely different feeling compared to how I felt about it when I planned to leave last January. I’m weirdly looking forward to camping in the Georgia woods for ten days without indoor plumbing and preparing for life overseas. There is one slight change to my plans. I won’t be flying to Georgia anymore. Don’t worry, I don’t lose the money I put towards the flights to Training Camp. Southwest Airlines lets you put that money towards another flight later on. So what am I doing? I’m driving! I know what you’re thinking, that’s so crazy and unlike me! I prayed about it and felt at peace about driving with another squadmate from Texas to Georgia.

I’m actually thankful that God gave me that peace when I initially decided because now that I think about it, it’s a crazy idea! Canceling something that is sure and going with the unknown? [The unknown being I don’t have money to pay for gas so we’ll see how the Lord will show up in that way] Definitely not like me. But that’s kind of what the World Race is about, pushing past the comfortable and taking a risk on the unknown. I’ll definitely have to step out of my comfort zone this next year more than usual so why not start now?

Fourth, I’m only $251 away from my $10,000 goal!!! Y’all. We’re so close!! That’s the deadline I need to reach in order to leave in October and I have no doubt we’ll get there! The Lord has been so faithful in showing up and I know He’ll continue to in the rest of this fundraising process! If you’d like to partner with me financially to help share God’s love to people all over the world, you can click the “Donate” button above!

Lastly, THANK YOU! I seriously can’t say it enough. To every single person who asks how I’m doing, who says they’re praying for me, who donates financially, who says they’re excited for me, thank you!!! You have no idea how much it means to me when I see just how many people are running this race with me and encouraging me along the way. I could not do this without you! <3

With an insanely grateful heart,
