Month 10! What?? So crazy! How is it I’ll be home a month from now?? On Thursday we head to Sri Lanka for our final month and I wanted to share what we’ve done this month!

Our primary ministry has been teaching English at our church, but in our off time we do a bit of work around the church grounds. It started off with painting. We painted the fences and a bit of each other, but did a fantastic job nonetheless.

When we weren’t channeling our inner Huck Finn, we pulled weeds from the yard! All those times I pulled weeds at my aunts house have finally paid off! Thanks Tia!

During the week, we teach English to an awesome group of people! I learned very quickly that just because you speak the language doesn’t mean you can teach it. I had to brush up on the most basic of things. Praise the Lord for wifi!

“Enter their world, show them mine,” has been such an important concept for me to remember when building relationships with people. For one of our English classes, we learned all about Mongolia. We learned everything from where our students were born to where their families live. I also know where Ghengis Khan is from and where his parents lived! They taught us about Mongolia and we taught them about America. It was definitely one of my favorite classes.

The church hosted a youth camp for those that went to English classes and lived in the surrounding areas. There ended up being more non-believers than believers at this church camp. It was so cool to see so many people learning about the Lord over those three days. I know they’re going to see incredible fruit from that camp.

See that river? We had to cross it multiple times to get to our campsite with all the things. Talk about youth camp extreme! That water was SO cold.

Boldo, the pastor, loves extreme sports so naturally there had to be some sort of extreme element to camp. We ended up rock climbing as soon as we arrived! Yay for conquering fears!

To finish off our month, they let us speak at church! I’m always so humbled to be able to share with people what the Lord is doing around the world. I’m thankful for friends who believe in us and give us the opportunity to speak into their people. Church of All Nations has been so wonderful and I know the Lord is going to do incredible things through them. The Church is alive and moving in Mongolia!

Lastly, if you ever see these gals, thank them for these pictures! Without them, this blog/any pictures posted on social media wouldn’t be possible. They’re the best and I’m so thankful to have them on my team. Kori and Heather, y’all are my faves.

 Love,

Sam
