We would go almost every day to get water from the well.
Some other chores that we might help with would be dishes out in the yard.
Following chores, we would begin teaching for the day. Daniel always kept me on my toes because anything I taught him, he would pick up so easily. He definitely is a smart one!
Once teaching was done and lunch was eaten, we would proceed to random games and activities such as an insanely complicated game of Cat. That game had so many rules I’m convinced the kids made them up as we played. Their competitive sides definitely came out during that game.
We might also gather around the laptop to watch a wonderful Disney movie because how can we not watch The Lion King while living in the bush of Uganda? You really must.
You can also never go wrong with coloring.
Wednesday and Saturday afternoon called for sports camp so we’d head on out a little early to go play with kids from all around town.
The parachute was a must. Talk about childhood memories!
One of our sweet friends that worked where we were staying ended up accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior!! We were so excited to see the way the Lord moved in Hamida’s life in the time we were at LightForce. We all celebrated with her and were beyond thrilled for all that we knew the Lord would do in her life. God is so good!!!
Ministry also looks like just spending time with people and learning from them. Semi cooked our food all month and on one of our last days she invited us into the kitchen to teach us how to make one of our favorite dishes. It was wonderful being able to hang out with her and learn a little more about her life.
Overall, it was my favorite month of the Race so far. The Lord moved and He definitely showed up. He even let me be incredibly close to a monkey! Yay!!
I’m still $4,200 away from being fully funded and would love if you would pray about giving financially to this Race. The Lord still has so much more to do all across the world and I’d love to be able to be part of it. If you feel led to give, you can do so by clicking the Donate button! My deadline has passed, but if I get the money in soon I’ll be able to stay! Love you all and am so glad to have you part of the this Race! ??
With a grateful heart,
Sam
