One of my favorite parts of the World Race, so far, has been living in community. It is allowing me to experience so much growth and knowledge as a believer. Back in July, my squad attended training camp, and towards the end of the week were placed into teams. I remember when it all happened I didn’t even realize who all was on my team until we ran towards each other. It was a moment of complete JOY that I will never forget. We all knew that we were so different, but God gave each of us an unexplainable amount of joy. From that moment on we have been pretty much inseparable.
We are now in the middle of month 3 and growing together as a family. We chose the name Xuberant Joy, as a constant reminder of the joy we experienced that day and the joy that we want to show to 11 nations while on the World Race. Our family isn’t all about fun and happiness; there have been some really hard days together, but the great part is at the end of each day we are a family and love each other as sisters.
I feel so blessed to be experiencing the World Race with these girls. We cry together. We laugh until we cry. We dance. We sing. We act a little crazy. We dive into the Word. We serve side by side. And we live a life filled with JOY! I know that this community is a gift from God, because without them I know my race would look completely different. I have learned so much about myself from them and each day brings a new opportunity to grow into what God has for me. They are the greatest support system and I LOVE THEM!
I created this video to give everyone a little bit of an idea what a day in life of Team Xuberant Joy looks like. Be prepared to laugh, because most of our time together is spent with big smiles and some crazy dance moves.
