It is surreal to just type the title.. I AM FULLY FUNDED! I never imagined that in exactly 2 months the Lord would provide almost $17,000 in donations! The outpouring of love and financial support that I have received has been unbelievable. Thank you to my supporters who have already joined me on this journey and for those of you who have yet to join with me, keep reading for ways you can still help!
I am Fully Funded. I will probably always remember exactly where I was when I first said it out loud. I was at training camp; the place where World Racers are broken and find new life in the Father. I had just participated in a team building activity that stretched me so far I was almost in tears. I sat down, pulled out my phone and found a text message from the day before saying that a good friend’s church had decided to partner with me in this journey. Their giving amount put my expected total over $15,500. As soon as I read the text, a new session started. Talk about not having time to process the magnitude of the words ‘fully funded’. I ran out of the gym to the bathroom where I stared in the mirror and tears ran down my face. I was FULLY FUNDED and would be spending 11 months with my God and my squad. I honestly could not tell you what that next session was about. I think I took notes but my heart was deep in thought with God. Afterwards I stood up and found my squad leader Kacie. I asked her if I could take a few minutes away from the squad to process some thoughts, and that’s when I said it. I am Fully Funded. She jumped, smile, and hugged me. Cue: flood gate of tears. I still think about that moment when I finally realized the power and gracious timing of our God.
I have struggled my entire life with doubt. I don’t know where it came from but somehow I always doubt myself, my abilities, my intentions, and my thoughts. It has been a really hard place for me with God because I constantly struggle to doubt my relationship with Him. I see someone else worship in one way and doubt that I am worshipping the right way. Or I see someone receive the Holy Spirit one way and think that I am missing something for not having the same experience. God opened this wound at training camp and helped me come to this harsh reality, but He also assured me that He would constantly show me His love and let me know that He is always there. He let me know that I could stop doubting His place in my life because He was my Father and wasn’t going anywhere. So what better time to become fully funded then while I was at camp! He showed His love in a BIG way and made it clear that the World Race was exactly where He wanted me. God chose ME for this adventure! He loves ME! He provided for ME! I am HIS daughter and HE wants to get to know ME! Talk about an amazing way to receive the Lord’s blessing and love…I mean, WOW!
Through the entire fundraising process, the Lord has shown me that He is in control.
He is JUST, MERCIFUL, POWERFUL, GRACIOUS, LOVING, GENTLE, STEADFAST, and
He is who He says He is!
"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
So now what. I still have fundraising events. I still have gear to buy, meds to purchase, bills to pay, and other expenses to cover. In the past week, God has moved in my heart and let me know that He is gonna get all that covered. He has assured me that there is no doubt when His love and provision is concerned. Another donor came forward after I become funded and that covered my insurance and flight to launch. I had a monthly donor agree to directly give me the monthly donations to cover some gear and help me continue sponsoring a child in Haiti. The Lord is financially providing every day and just continuing to take all my doubts and crush them. My donors have showed me love and financial provision, so now I get to continue spreading that to others..my squad.
I know that God has called me to be a member of the XSquad, but I also rest in knowing that He called the other 40 people to go with me. He has moved in my heart to let me know that the remainder of my expenses will be covered in some way, so the remainder of my fundraising will be for my squad. For the people I need with me on this journey. For the squadmates that will be my family for the next year.
