This is NUTS! < — I’m pretty sure I’ve said that phrase at LEAST 100 times in the past 36 hours…
I’ve started this blog what seems like 20 times.
Here’s what you probably want to know…
I AM SAFE … in the Hong Kong airport.
That’s right. I’m in China. At 6:36am on Wednesday here while it’s 5:36pm back home.
…a few things about my trip thus far…
- I saw Phoenix for the first time in my life. ๐
- As I was flying into LA, all I could think of was… I wish I had time to stop by Skid Row. I didn’t realize how much of my heart I had left there in March…
- The 14 hour flight from LA to Hong Kong wasn’t as bad as I had imagined.
- Mulan is a LOT funnier now than when I watched it as a kid.
- Bringing my teddy bear, DJ was definitely a good choice.
- Airline food isn’t terrible…especially when the flight attendant handed me a tuna sandwich at 2am…
- I am convinced I’ve lost my mind. Thankfully, approximately 80 other people have, too. I’m not alone. ๐
- China has MOUNTAINS! … unlike Illinois…
In just a couple short hours, we will leave Hong Kong & head to Manila, Philippines where we will meet up with the rest of our squads (the leaders, finance and logistics people arrived early).
Please keep us in your prayers!
I love you! ๐

This is a view of Hong Kong from the airport… it's SO much more breathtaking in person.
