After we get to know the women in the bars a bit – visiting them night after night, we invite them to lunch and introduce them to SHE, an avenue they can choose to get out of the bar industry.

SHE = Self Help & Empowerment.

Mark & Sharon Biddell began SHE in 2006. SHE is an organization committed to helping women leave the bar industry by offering training in job skills such as jewelry making, baking, hotel/hospitality training.  The women are able to have a salaried job making jewelry or baking here at the SHE center [the reason I will probably gain 20 pounds this month].

The women can also have housing, meals, childcare, and English lessons at the SHE center.

SHE offers SO much more than just job training and English lessons. SHE offers community, friendship, empowerment, love, justice, HOPE, and a relationship with JESUS CHRIST. How cool is that?

The Biddells are an amazing family from the UK. [Mark, Sharon, Jake, Luke, Josh, & Sophie]. Their love of God & passion for HIS people & HIS Kingdom is unquestionable. Really, they are phenomenal.

At the SHE center, we begin each day with devotion time. For the rest of the day, the women go about their business cooking, making jewelry, baking, or learning English. Weekly Bible studies are also offered.

The SHE ministry is such an incredible environment. After devotion time each day, our team has the chance to work alongside of the women here. In the afternoons we prayer walk through the bars on Bangla Road, and at nighttime we do our ministry in the bars.

I encourage you to check out the SHE website & consider supporting them financially.
