Valentine’s Day.

Romance. Intimacy. Love.

At debrief, we did this cool thing called a “fire tunnel.” It was a 2+ hour “Speaking Life” session with both Q&R squads. As I walked through, person after person said the same thing – in different ways…

“God wants to romance you.”

God wants to romance me. What does that even mean? GOD romancing me?

I received a Valentine from a brother on the Q & in it he wrote

"Samantha, I don’t know how you celebrate this particular holiday in February, but just know that God is a Romantic and wants to spend it with you, and the next day, and the next, etc."

He is a pursuer. He wants to meet me where I am. He wants to love me. He wants to show me that He is all I need. He wrote the greatest love story of all time.

Greater LOVE has no one than this: that he lay down his LIFE for his FRIENDS.
–          John 15:13
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

John 3:16 tells us that “God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten son.” When Jesus was serving the Last Supper, he broke bread saying, “This is my body, given for you” – Luke 22:19. In that day, when you broke bread & shared it with someone, you were showing an act of friendship. A person broke bread with friends. Jesus refers to himself as the Bread of Life. He broke His body for His FRIENDS.

No greater love than this…

So. How is God romancing me?

He gave me a song.
It's called "Dance With Me."

This song is perfect.

He wakes me up early every morning [seriously. before 6am EVERY day. I groan every time]. I zombie myself outside to view the sunrise in the breath-taking valley in which we live & put my ipod in. I have a “romance” playlist. I always start with the song He gave me.

With my eyes closed, I walk into our secret room. The room that I know nobody else can see or enter. It’s just for us. We dance…

Dance with Me – Chris Quilala/Kim Walker

Won’t you dance with me, O Lover of my soul, to the song of all songs?
Romance me, O Lover of my soul, with the song of all songs?

Divine Romance – Phil Wickham

For You, I sing I dance.
Rejoice in this Divine Romance.
Lift my heart and my hands to show my love.
To show my love…

Forever Love – Francesca Battistelli

You are my forever love. You are my forever love. You are my forever love.
From the bottom of my heart I’ll sing to you.
From the depths of who I am I’ll love you.
With everything inside I’ll run to you.
‘Cause all I have become I owe to you.

And I end with a song for Him…

Let My Words Be Few – Phillips, Craig, & Dean

The simplest of all love songs, I want to bring to you.

So I’ll let my words be few…Jesus, I am so in love with you.

I can tell you with 100% confidence — God wants to romance YOU as well.
Let HIM. Allow HIM to be the Lover of your soul.
It's so worth it.

Happy Valentine's Day! 🙂
