I find it interesting that on the same day the Q hits double digits in WR months, we hit single digits in weeks until we head home… yep. We have begun Month 10 with only 9 weeks until we land in NYC.

So… what’s next?

Well… I will spend the month of June in Ukraine & the month of July in Romania — SUPER excited for both.

Then… I will fly with The Q into NYC on July 30th, spend the night in JFK airport, say my final goodbyes, board a flight to Chicago [YAYY!], land on the 31st, and begin my dream job on August 1st.

That’s right. My dream job.

Funny story. Last year around this time, olivet.edu did an article on my World Race trip. One of the questions was, “What is your dream job beyond this next year?” My answer [yes, this is a direct quote]

“Easy. To be the next MMR.”

MMR & Me.

Well ladies & gentlemen, my dream has come true.

I will be the next Resident Director of McClain Hall at Olivet Nazarene University.

I am more than honored to serve the Kingdom in this capacity. I get to live in an amazing community of believers, serve as a part of an extraordinary student development/residential life staff, and invest in the lives of college-aged women. Mmm. That’s good.

I “met” my spectacular RA team through a Skype “meeting.” They are fantastic. Really. I have 7 amazing women who get to spend the next year doing life with me. 🙂

I fully believe that God has done such a huge work in me over the past 9 months and will continue to work in me in order to prepare me for the road ahead. I am excited to take what I have learned this year and put it into practice as I live out my journey as an RD.

So many times throughout the WR something has happened, or a lesson was learned, and all I could think was “I can use that as an RD.”

I am ready to speak life, empower, and call into greatness the women of McClain Hall. I am ready to work alongside the incredible Residential Life team [inner campus won’t know what hit it when Kati, Joy, & I get together again…].

Most of all, I’m just really excited to be a part of something I love and to see what God’s going to do in & through me during this next season of my life.

Oh. And if nothing else, living with 200+ women will definitely give me a reason to bake as often as possible! 🙂
