We’ve all heard the saying “Be careful what you wish for.”

Well, this week I learned a new lesson along the same lines. “Be careful what you blog for.”

You may remember my blog about “gardening.” [If you don’t, you can check it out here.] At the end of the blog I wrote:

Next month, when I’m in Thailand, if someone asks me to garden, I will probably just laugh and say,

BRING IT ON!

Yep. You guessed it. We were asked to garden. And I was true to my word and laughed and said, “BRING IT ON!”

This “gardening,” however, looked a little more like the “gardening” I am used to. We were asked to clear the small patio area and separate the good, useful plants from the dead, not-so-useful plants. The bad ones went to the compost pile while the good ones were relocated.

My duty, actually, was to take Mr. Winston on a walk in order to keep him out of the way.

When I returned, we finished up the “gardening” by raking up the weeds cut by the weed-whacker.

With this blog, I would like to publicly apologize to my team for speaking life into “gardening” in every country along the race. Please forgive me! From now on, I will be careful what I blog for…
