Blogging is something that I have never really been a fan of or thought that I would ever be doing, but here I am. My name is Sam Adams, and I am 18 am senior in high school at Pinecrest Academy, a small k-12 school in Cumming, Ga. I have gone there for most of my life, and know just about everyone which has created what some would call a bubble.
In addition to my school life, I also have attended Browns Bridge Church starting at a young age, through their elementary, middle and high school environments. I currently attend InsideOut, the high school environment, and I also co-lead an amazing small group of young men in Transit, the middle school environment. The small group the I lead in Transit has impacted me in so many ways. It has shown me how fulfilling it is to be able to pour into the lives of those younger than you and teach them things that I learned in middle school. Also showing them what it means to have a faith of their own has been awesome.
The past 3 summers, I have had the privilege of going on 3 mission trips with InsideOut to Merida, Mexico. Those 3 trips were arguably the highlights my 4 years in high school, as I was able to truly see the love that God had for people no matter what their situations were, or where they are in the world.
Fast Forward to my senior year and the time has come for me to make a decision on what I want to do after high school. While college was definitely in the back of my mind, I felt that I was being called to something greater. Something greater than the average college lifestyle. Something greater than what the normal is. I felt that God was calling me to go and let him use me in ways unimaginable, in places that I had never been before. So that is why I chose to go on the world race. I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me, and can’t wait to see how he uses me!
For those of you who are reading this, I have 2 requests. Firstly that you would partner with me in prayer during this time of unknown. Secondly, I ask that you would consider donating to help support my journey and what God plans to do through me.
Thank you,
Sam
