The race. Wow, what an adventure with the lord it’s been.

If I’m being 100% honest, prior to going on the World Race, I wanted to go because I thought that it would be a cool opportunity to travel around the world, take some cool pictures that I could show off to people back home, and maybe make some new friends. And it was a Christian trip so that made mom happy. While yes, I was able to do those things, after arriving in Cambodia month 1 only then did I fully realize what I had gotten myself into. Growing up in many Christian environments I was used to being around these types of people and acting like I had it all together in conversations about me and my faith. Except I didn’t. I never have and still, don’t. I especially didn’t then, and to be honest, most of us didn’t back then. As I look back and see what the Lord did during these past 9 months, it is truly remarkable and is something that I will never forget. The first 3 months the Lord taught me what it actually meant to follow him. This was a season of letting things go, and letting old ways go whether it be relationships, old habits, ways of thinking, etc… then when we got to Ethiopia since we had no connection to any internet, the Lord taught me what it looked like to pursue a real relationship with Him. He also showed me what it looked like to love those who were really hard to love both on my squad and wherever I was at. Lastly, in the last 3 months, the Lord started preparing me to go home and taught me what that would look like. During these 3 months, the Lord really changed my desire for material wealth and gave me the desire for relationships and spiritual wealth.

So, many of you are probably asking what’s next? Well, after being home for a couple of days, I will go back to work this summer, traveling to go see friends, and with my family, and then in the fall, I will be enrolling in the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta to pursue a degree in photography.

Thanks so much for all of your support both financially and spiritually, it truly means the world to me and I wouldn’t have been able to do this without each and every one of you. So THANK YOU!!
