This week has been one full of lessons for me. While it has been fun, full of adventure, and tiring all at the same time, it has also been filled with lessons. As I have continued to ask God to reveal himself to me and show me who he created me to be, He has put situations in front of me that continue to test me. This week as our ministry has slowed down somewhat, He has taught me what it looks like to love others through patience even though things might not be going that way I want them to. This has always been something that I’ve struggled with, Loving those who may be slower than me, who don’t think like me, or who simply do things that I don’t agree with.
In the book Everybody, Always, the author talks about how Jesus called his followers to love whoever they came in contact with, no matter how different they were, just as He loved his neighbors. By loving our neighbors as Jesus did, they are able to see Him through us. Whether it be people on my squad, the people we are working with, or the local Cambodian kids, it has been cool to see their reactions these past 3 weeks.
In terms of our ministry, we have almost finished our mural that we started at the local church and we have begun painting the outside of the church as well. We have had some cooler days which has also been a blessing as we continue to love on the Battambang community.
Stay tuned for more updates!
