It is a little unreal to think that in less than a week Sam and I will be leaving our home for 11 months. This last month has been jam packed with all sorts of preparation. The hardest part, by far, is saying goodbye. I’ve said goodbye to…

My goofy parents (who stole my phone to take a few selfies while my sister and I were on the lake)…

My crazy siblings…

My fabulous in-laws and their sweet families…

Game nights with the coolest cats from Torrington…

Life on the ranch…

My fellow Lincoln Star teachers…

Warm smiles and hugs each morning  from 18 of the most wonderful first graders..

Le Peep, our tiger

The friends I started life with…

And I know so many more.

What makes all these things great, what makes them home, is not where we are, but rather who we’re with. I am going to have many homes over the course of the year, and for the rest of my life. None of this makes saying goodbye easier, but does bring Sam and I peace knowing that when we get to Atlanta for launch we’ll be embraced by 43 of our new best friends who already love us for exactly who God made us to be. We will be… home.
