Hello My name is Samuel Millican! I am 20 years old and I have 4 siblings, 2 parents that love eachother and my younger brother and sister have 2 dogs who are brothers that have a tendacy to fight sometimes. My oldest sister has a pet bird that has been alive forever, My second oldest sister is married and gave birth to my niece last year! her first birthday will be on 12/12/12 I live in Houst Texas with my family and work at a fast food resturant called Culver's which actually origionated in Wisconsin. I'm also going to a All Nations School of Ministry at The Houston Worship Center church.I love the youth group there because that is where God chose to speak to me and I begun to submit myself to His truths and I am a changed person because of it, you have no idea! My Dad is the music minister at Calvary Bapist Church (one of many).
If you asked me if I'm following in my fathers footsteps, the answer would be yes and no; yes I love music and love the Lord and want to minister to people and to God for the rest of my life, but on the other hand I don't see myself serving at a church for 10 or 20 years and having a peaceful western lifestyle. That is because the struggles that I have faced in my life sent subconciously sent me on a mission to find not just God, but the God of Judah, the God that could deliver me.
Psalms 18:2 says "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold" When you face a situation that you cannot defend yourself from, the only thing that can help you is God. it's not going to church, it's not making yourself feel good, it's not taking advise from oprah, it's God! and God alone. God will take you to a place where you are completely dependant on God, and the only thing you have left to cling to IS God.
The reason I decided that I wanted to go on the world race is because lets face it, we all go through stuff, we all go through things. and if you havn't, you're blessed! but if you've ever gone through things that have dragged your through the dirt, put you in the wrong crowd, got you in trouble, then you know where I've been,.. more or less. The important thing isn't what I've gone through, the important thing is how God is faithful and comes through. "Seek and ye shall find, knock, and the door shall be open." The reason I want to go on the race is because that I've been in darkness, I know what it's like, and I know what it's like to be delivered from it. and I want to share that same experience with the world, I want to share the same love that God has shared with me. I also want to deepen my relationship with God. I hear people talk about how I might not like it, or that it's hard and you come across troublesome things, and get exposed to the darkness and injustice that is in the world. I am convinced that with everything that God has seen me through, there is nothing that I can't do. I feel a supernatural boldness to aproach this thing. I'm ready to see the glory of God made manifest on the earth, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Which leads me to another topic –
Sometimes people can be quick to believe when a demon will manifest in a person, but when God manifests His power, for some odd reason, there is a hesitation, or doubt, and questioning on weather it really was from God. This same sanario happened when Jesus cast out a demon, the pharasees mocked and said that He cast it out through the power of beezlbub (a demon), and Jesus rebuked them and said "how can satin cast out satin?" and that's when Jesus warned about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. It wasn't about doubting or questioning, the Pharasees knew all to well that Jesus was of God, they mocked Him because His agenda worked against theirs. Which leads me to another topic –
Sometimes peachers and people in high places in the church develope their own agenda, and when God does a work in the church or is trying to do a work, they will try to snuff it out because it's anti-their agenda. No longer is it about serving a God that is higher and knows more than them, but it becomes about serving themselves, Christ's kingdom is about serving others. they have become Anti-Christ. In this western world, we have convinced ourselves that God heals through medicine, gives wisdom through simenars. and that demons are no more than mere emotional issues. If this is you, I would like to say, WAKE UP! You better be prepared when you leave to go on the world race because your world is about to be turned upsidedown!!
the positive side is that if it is God that is turning your world upsidedown, you are simply empying yourself and filling yourself with more of God. if you seek a transformation, if you want your life to be changed, just ask God to open your eyes. That you may be able to see the way, the truth, and the life. that you may be able to see Jesus for who He truely is, that God is love and His love never fails.
Now to end this little rant, I have an awesome testimony from this morning!
For internship at school, we went door to door leaving little flyers advertising the Fall Festival at the church on holloween. They split us up into groups of 4, and then groups of 2. while my group simply just left a bunch of flyers on peoples doors, My friends Sarah and Omar were in a different subdivision. they came up to one door and decided to knock, the lady aswered and they invited her and her family to the Fall Festival and then proceeded to ask if she needed any prayer for anything, she mentioned how her husband has been having trouble with his sight and could only see blurry images, and she preceeded to ask prayer for their buisness, and finances and such. So they prayed for their buisness and stuff and then asked if her husband could come so they could pray for him, he came and they decided to pray for his sight. After they finished praying they asked how his sight was and if there was any difference, he answered and said that he could see the stripes on Omar's shirt, they responded and shared how Jesus prayed for a blind man twice so they were going to pray for him again. they prayed for him again and then asked how his sight was, he said that he could see the stitching on her shirt, and he could see the bottons. He was completely Healed! The cool part is that Sarah and Omar are only 19 and 18. and that brings up another point –
you don't have to be a 40 or 50 year old minister, or a special speaker or an evangelist to pray for the sick to recover; God isn't looking for the elect to be his chosen, or else Jesus would have picked 12 Pharasees and Rabi's. God is looking for anyone who is willing to leave everything that they have and follow Him. He is looking for people that are willing to abandon their own agenda and their own plans and follow God with everything they have, leaving everything behind and surrendering their all. God is looking for the type of people that are willing to go on an 11 month mission trip to go visit orphans and people in the slums and the least of the least. Jesus said that "whatever you do for the least of these, you did them unto me." How awesome is that? that we have the chance to minister to God? How many of you want to do that? I know I do!
Ps. I apologies for any clarical errors, I could fix them all, but it's 12am, I have to get up in 6 hours, I had a full day of work and school, and I get to do it all again tomorrow! (Not that I'm making excuses or anything)
please deal gracefully with me.
God bless you and bless your day! Good night.
