Our ministry this month involved sharing the gospel with Chinese students. Being involved with Campus Crusade for Christ for four years during college gave me tons of experience in sharing my faith and really valuable training. (Subtle plug) Our goal was to meet Chinese students during English corners at the nearby colleges. English corner is a weekly program put on by an organization through the university to help Chinese students practice their English with foreigners. It was also a great opportunity for my team and I to meet new friends and later share Jesus with them. We would meet students at English corners and exchange phone numbers, then in a few days we would invite them to a party to get to know them better and gage their interest in spiritual matters. If they seemed interested, we would invite them to lunch one-on-one so we could share the gospel with them. I got to use Soularium, Perspective cards, and KGPs, which really helped with the language barrier. If they received it well and were still interested, we invited them to hang out, get coffee, and study the Bible together. We met tons of new people and the Chinese students were really open to new friendships. I’ll never forget the friends we made and the people we got to share the most important thing in our lives with. We also started a weekly Bible study to get our new friends plugged in and connected to a church. The weekly Bible study turned into planting a new church, with some members of the main church stepping up into leadership roles and transferring. I loved our ministry in China. We even had awesome ministry contacts from Ohio! Check out their websites:
