I am very happy to announce that I have reached my first deadline for the World Race two weeks early! Praise God!! Here is what I have learned so far from this experience.

  1. People Care:When I tell my story people are interested! They want to hear what God is doing in my life. They want to help, they want to hear, and they want to listen. This amazes me! I never thought people would be interested in my life. But God surprised me and showed me that people love and care about me.
  2. God will Provide: Everyone told me this when I began fundraising. But you don’t really know what this means until you really experience. At times I would get down about fundraising and I would become discouraged. Whenever these moments happened God did amazing things. I’d receive a call from a friend that I was waiting for, I’d get an anonymous donation, or a donation from someone I thought would never give. I was amazed and in awe of God during these times.
  3. Don’t be afraid: Asking people for money is scary. If people tell you it isn’t, they’re lying. But I’ve learned I am not asking people for money. God is asking people to help further His kingdom. This has changed my view of what fundraising really is. And I found that people really aren’t scary and most people want to help.

This is what I have learned so far from fundraising and I can’t wait to see what else He does in my life through fundraising.

Don’t forget about my fundraiser June 19th at Sweet Frog in the Fayetteville Plaza. It is all day and all you need to do is mention my name and 25% of your purchase will go towards my World Race trip!
