My name is Samantha, but everyone just calls me Sam! I grew up in the lovely state of New York and I will graduate in May of 2015 with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Cortland. I love my two dogs, reading, playing frisbee, Young Life, ice cream, traveling, running, chacos, and adventure! I love to try new things, especially new food!
My greatest adventure began my senior year of high school when I accepted Jesus into my life. This happened because of the ministry of Young Life. College aged leaders wanted to spend time with a high school kid like me, and that changed my life forever.
I loved college, I learned so much about the Lord and made some of the greatest friends I will ever have. However, about a year ago I began to think about what I would do once I graduated. I wanted to travel and help change lives, but that is all I knew. That is when I came across the World Race website. I felt called to go, and so I applied, and now here I am!
I am both excited and nervous for this next adventure, but I know God will be there with me through it all. I will end with my favorite verse, Romans 8:38-39.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
