Hi World! My name is Sally. I am a Wisconsinite, born and raise in a lovely town called Chippewa Falls. It is a charmer. I come from a large family and would not want it any other way. I have four older siblings and seven younger siblings (2 families)! As a kid, I was an attention grabber – the spontaneous, push the limits, thrill seeker type of kid. It has, in some degrees, followed me into my adult hood. I am the definition of sarcasm and sass (this get me in trouble from time to time). I am competitive – brings out good and bad qualities of thy self. I love basketball, especially the Denver Nuggets, but am not so grand at playing it. Growing up, my faith was not really my faith. I was raised in an single parent home, being my blood dad. Sundays were my favorite days because I was able to spend it with the Zylstra’s (my dad and mom now). They brought my siblings and I to church every Sunday. Without the Zylstra’s I honestly cannot say if I would have a relationship with Christ at all. In high school I was bold about my faith, but it still wasn’t mine. It wasn’t until my sophomore year in college that I quit depending on other believers to spoon feed me. That year was a very transformational year for me. I pursue God instead of waiting for Him to met me. I learned quickly about gifts I was given and passions I had. I found joy within serving and living a life dedicated to God. As of now, I am a senior at Crossroads College in Rochester, MN. I am Pursuing a bachelors degree in Youth, Family and Community Ministries. Say that 7 times in a row! Okay, it wasn’t that hard. I will be graduating from Crossroads in December of 2014 (so excited for this)! Soon after I graduate, I will be leaving in January 2015 to live on the mission field with the World Race.
I am ready to push my faith to complete dependency in Christ. I am ready to let go and let God lead! The last thing that is key to who I am is my love for my Lord and Savior. I hope that my words through my time blogging will be uplifting, convicting, full of love and joy, but mostly raw and real to who I really am.
Serving as His Ambassador,
Sally Zylstra
