an excerpt from a journal entry dated november 5th. full of reflection. full of gratitude.

abba you are so good. thank you for the way you are so intimate with your children. each and every single one of them. today i realized how faithful you are and how good you are to us in the big and the little things. guatemala is so beautiful. thank you for the amazing staff here. they love us so well. they steward us so well. thank you for morning coffee. thank you for chápin breakfast. thank you for an amazing squad. that having fun and loving each other comes so easy. that our priority is to honor you and honor each other. thank you for our leadership team. thank you for their obedience. thank you for their dedication. thank you for the way they love. thank you for team ekklesia!!!! wow! what a powerhouse! thank you for these women. they are leaders. they are tone setters. i am so lucky to know and be known by them. thank you for cold weather and thrift stores that sell sweatshirts for $2. thank you for iced chai lattes and friends that will take out quetzals for you because your card was stolen. thank you Lord for cozy nights playing catan or eating cereal. thank you that i am getting stronger physically because i actually sleep now! what a concept! thank you for warm showers. thank you for christmas lights that remind me of my bed at home. thank you for joy. thank you for deep convos or late night dance parties in the bathroom. thank you for friends who speak life. thank you for a beautiful home away from home. thank you for soccer games at night. thank you for less and less fomo (fear of missing out). thank you for genuine conversations with teresa (one of the base’s cooks). thank you for los enchinos. thank you for every beautiful soul who lives there. thank you for their vulnerability and openness to strangers. thank you for bus rides to antigua. the busy, crowded ones and the quiet, sunday morning ones. thank you for your beautiful creation. thank you for the way you love so well. thank you for infinite grace. thank you for patience. thank you for humility. thank you for always talking and teaching me something new. thank you for goodbyes. thank you for heartache. thank you for sadness. thank you for growth. thank you for choosing me everyday. thank you for saving my life. thank you for the way you provide for me. thank you for your promises. thank you for keeping me healthy. i am so grateful.
