To the people back home, don’t worry about me at launch. I am loved here and I am ok.

We’re still in Atlanta for a couple more days. Still learning how to be the best children of God to bring love into the world.

Let me tell you a little bit about what has been spoken over me as we begin this journey. I’m saying we and that has a lot of meanings. Yes, I’m including God, and yes I’m including you, my reader. You’re here reading this and you are part of my journey. You are praying for me. You are curious for me. You are on a journey, wherever you are. God loves you and wants to show you something just the same as He wants to show me something.

We’re on this journey together. All of us. I’m grateful for all of our journeys. God is so big and so good.

Anyway, yes, there are 2 things I want to share.

The first is a key. Keys can be pretty simple. They’re meant to unlock something. In this case, this particular key is from a organization called Keys for the Journey and the purpose of the key is to unlock journeys.

So, this key doesn’t unlock a lock. Instead, it has a word of something you want to live into and God wants to bring forth in your life. You can choose your word or you can ask the creators to pray and give you the word God wants to say. They come on a necklace for you to wear.

I learned about this at training camp. The creators are closely connected with Adventures in Missions and so those of us going on the race get a special offer for a key that is given to us at launch.

If you know me, you know I’m not a necklace person or much of a jewelry person at all. You probably aren’t surprised that I seriously debated about whether to take the offer of getting a key at launch. But, in the end I decided I might regret it more if I didn’t give God the opportunity to speak something over me as I began this journey.

So, I got my key a day ago. This key is where we get the title of our blog today.

“Show Up”

I can say I have an idea of what this key means. I can say I know it is a promise from God that He will show up on my World Race.

I can also say I have no idea what that means. It’s a little bit intimidating, you know? Crazy things happen when God shows up. But I know He’ll prepare me for my own journey of showing up.

Beyond that, it’s going to be a journey of discovering what God means with these 2 simple words, these 6 little letters.

But my expectations got way bigger when I saw my key.

And the love didn’t end there.

I don’t think I’ve written much about our squad mentor. I’ll be honest, I don’t 100% know what squad mentors do. I’m learning as I go and let me tell you they pour way more into their squads than you can imagine. Our squad mentor is named Teresa. We call her TT.

Turns out, she’s spent the last I don’t know how many months praying over us, seeking God’s vision for us, and looking to begin discipling us even before launch ever came.

So, today she gave us cards with words from a magazine that she felt God speaking to her through.

Just a simple word or phrase cut out from a magazine and the words she heard God speaking over that word or phrase for each of us.

So here’s mine:

I don’t know what it means yet. But I know it seriously reinforces that “Show Up” promise from my key.

We’re fixing to write a story, y’all.

And I don’t think this message is meant for just me. Y’all are on this journey with me. God’s going to show up for us. God wants to write a story with us. I don’t know what that means, but if you’ll show up for God it’s gonna be crazy and it’s gonna be awesome.

So, I’ve been challenged by God with the simple words “Show Up”, and now that’s my challenge to you.

God is ready.

God is willing.

God is waiting.

Will you show up?
