A girl on my team challenged us to blog about things we’re excited to see on the trip. I honestly don’t really have a clue. But I can say I’m excited to see new cultures. I have this picture of South American culture, and probably Eastern European culture as well, as being far slower than American culture. I’m really kind of hoping that this trip will be bring the opportunity to slow down in life. In America, every day is rush and go go go.
I mean, literally, I’m writing this at 9:24pm after a full morning of work and an evening karate class with some cleaning and fundraising in between. I literally have to be up at 4am and I should be asleep right now, but that’s just not how I want to act in American culture. I like being busy and I’m a night owl (I really won’t mind when I don’t have to be at work at 5am anymore, but that’s another blog). So, yes, the point. I have no clue what to expect, but I’m hoping I can slow down just a little on this trip. And I’m hoping that when I come back I can hold on to just a little of that and carry it forward into whatever future I have.
