How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

This time last year, October 10-13 to be exact, I was at a conference at which an awesome man of God gave a prophetic word that I would be taking the gospel of Jesus across nations.

“Girl with the pretty feet,” he began as he humbly knelt down to bless my feet and share the encouraging word that spoke right to the desires in my heart– that I would be taking the good news of the Gospel across nations sharing the love and light of Jesus to many. Little did I know that it would come to pass so soon.

This year, on the 12th of October, I will be arriving at training camp for the World Race, which as many of you know will include me doing just that, going across nations sharing the good news of peace and salvation!

Coincidence? Maybe. But I like to think that God totally planned that one. 🙂 Although my squad and I do not launch until January, training camp will help equip us for what’s to come. And to that I say, “Equip away!”

Also pretty incredible is that I continue to receive a lot of support from people all over the place! Someone who I don’t even know decided to give generously towards our (Team Awesome’s 😉 ) fundraising goal. The kicker? The person who gave saves up money each year to give away to a cause or organization and it just so happens that they heard about my trip through a loved one and decided in their heart that this mission is the one that they want to support this year.

It’s been incredible watching God move in the hearts of so many and through this whole process of preparing for the race, I’m getting to see more and more of the beautiful in people.

People love love. We just do. We express love when we hold the door for someone, help another up after they’ve fallen, wear pink for breast cancer awareness, or put ribbons of varying colors on our cars and clothing in order to show that those who are going through something are not alone, when we throw change in a bucket in one of those red buckets outside of a convenience store, or when we humble ourselves to the point of not caring what we look like, smell like, or sound like just to come alongside another to show them that they are loved and to walk beside them in this journey called life.

The honest and raw truth is that we need each other. We weren’t meant to do this life alone and by showing love to each other, by seeing a need and meeting it with no strings attached, we are functioning as we were created to function.

Love is a beautiful thing.

I just recently heard these sweet words from a Rabbi at a friend’s wedding, “A courageous person is an ordinary person who has decided to face their fears instead of run away from them.”

So the next time you see or hear about a need and something in you heart whispers, “I can make a difference there,” I encourage you to step out in faith, confront all of those reasons (ehem, fears) that start to rise up that show you why helping would be inconvenient or a problem and just do it. You’ll be surprised at the freedom that it brings you. Plus God has an awesome way of returning the blessing.

Love you ladies and gentlemen! <3
