Now I'm in Nyagatare, Rwanda. (Do not try to pronounce this without professional supervision!)

We've had a very warm welcome by Pastor Caleb from Faith Centre Church. We are doing a lot of door to door ministry again this month. We walk around with our translator, Jessica, and it's more of just going where the Spirit leads than having a rout to cover like we did last month.

Jessica does a fantastic job helping us get around and communicate with the people. I've found that there are fewer people who speak English here than most of the places we've been until now.

Our first day on the job was very eventful. We began at a cluster of shops by the road where we drew quite an audience of both shopkeepers and pedestrians. It's very simple for us to draw and audience here. All that's needed is for us to show up and be white. There aren't a lot of mzungus here so we stand out like a corn stalk in a field of potatoes.

I'm learning not to mind being the main attraction just because of my skin color. If people show up just to see us, they'll end up hearing us too. And that opens the door for them to hear God. So I say, use me however you want to, God.

Andrea shared her testimony with those gathered and it seemed people were really listening. After praying with them, we moved on.

A few houses later we knocked on the door of a house that seemed to be empty. But at the previous house the lady had told us of an old woman who lived here. The lady had said the old woman was always home.

So when no one answered the door Jessica walked around the house to find the old woman behind the house doing laundry. We later learned her name is Margret.

Margret said she was very busy and seemed hesitant to let us in her house. But before we could say anything else she changed her mind and she invited us to come sit for a bit. As we followed her into the living room I noticed she walked with a sturdy stick as a cane.

When we were all seated Margret again expressed her welcome.

Scott shared a Bible verse with her and she told us about her children and grandchildren. She asked that we would pray for them and that they would follow Jesus. She also told us how she had been in an accident and hut her leg. Scott asked if we could pray for her leg.

She said that since she had already told us she is born again that of course we could pray for her. We came and laid hands on her and prayed. I felt God say there was grace for healing in that place. So I wanted to ask her how her leg felt after we prayed for it, but a neighbor had come in and she wanted prayer for her leg too. So we found out her name is Consellita and prayed for her as well.

When we'd finnished praying for Consellita someone asked how she was feeling. She said she felt something was changing. So we asked God to complete the work He had started.

But I had not forgotten about Margret who was still sitting in her chair.

"How does you leg feel now?" I asked her. She thought about it, then Scott said, "Try standing up."

I was sitting right across from Margret so I saw her face as she gingerly stood up. She looked cautious, then perplexed as she leaned her weight on her bad hip. Then she started stomping her leg on the ground as if she was looking for the familiar pain, but couldn't find it!

Then her face was filled with wonder as she tested her leg and started walking around without her cane!

By now we were all cheering and praising God. She had been healed right in front of our eyes!

She still had a bit of a limp and I've been praying for God to strengthen those unnused muscles so when we go back to visit her that will be gone too.

I'm always amazed when God lets me be a part of something like that. There's never a flash of light. I've never felt a jolt of electricity when praying. God just simply comes in like we ask Him and does something great and amazing.

It makes me think of David's words.

Psalms 145:5 I will speak of the glorious honour of Your majesty, and of Your wondrous works.

And this was just the first day! I'm looking foward to God doing some fantastic things this month!
