Sometimes during our last three weeks spent working with SHE Ministries I’ve felt like an undercover agent on a secret mission.
(Bengla Road in daytime.)
But we didn’t neglect the life-words either. We prayed God’s grace and love would come and overrun all the people Bengla Road. We prayed for open eyes so they would be able to see that all the “amusements” offered there were hollow shells, and that they could see true life, true happiness, would never be found there. We asked God to show the girls and lady-boys working in the bars, the men and women who own the bars and the tourists who frequent the bars, all the people, what they were really made for. We prayed for freedom for the captives of addiction, and the captives of human trafficking that we would not be allowed to see.
And at night we would go in again, still undercover as tourists, to accomplish our primary mission to offer freedom from this life to the girls in the bars. We would take notes on the names of the bars we went to, the names of the girls and their attitudes about wanting to be there or not. But this had to be done very carefully because there are people who don’t want us there. Most of the bars on that road are owned by just a few very powerful people who don’t want their empire shaken. And I have no doubt they are controlled by our real enemy. You can feel the presence of Hell especially strong just walking by the doors of certain bars.
But that doesn’t mean we leave in fear. That means we pray harder because the people who are entangled in the lies of such a place need God too. And He loves them just as much.
Although we have now left Phuket, the need is still strong there. All we can do is hand off the baton to the teams still working there, and pray that God will continue this work that He has started.
Tonight we will be reunited with the men of Y-squad, and then we’re off to Cambodia! I can’t wait! This is gonna be good!
Also, please consider helping my teamates stay on the field. Just copy and paste any of their blog addresses to your browser and click on Support Me.
