Hello friends and family!
A quick update on the month of October and what’s been going on here:
Due to bombings in Bangkok a couple months ago, Thailand is cracking down on how many visitors they let in, and we aren’t able to renew our visas. SO, on November 6th my entire squad (all 8 teams on the WR) will be leaving Thailand for CAMBODIA!
We’ll be doing ministry there for three weeks before leaving for South Africa on December 6th. Please be praying for the transition. We’re all in great anticipation for what God is going to do in Cambodia!
I will update on what ministry and living conditions will look like when we get there. They say dog is a luxury food there!!
MINISTRY:
This month went by pretty slowwww.
October is Thailand’s “summer break” so our Pastor put on an English camp for the entire month. So ministry for this month looked like: teaching English in the morning and at night Tuesday-Friday, plus Saturday morning. Sundays we teach from the bible at church. So Sunday and Monday were the only days we didn’t teach.
I struggled for a bit with accepting the fact that all we were doing was teaching English. One day I was praying and, in my bitterness, I asked God when He was going to take me to a place where I was helping people that actually needed help, not people who needed to learn English.
He QUICKLY reminded me that I am in a country where only 1% of the population knows Him. That means 99% of the population is in desperate need!
I viewed teaching English as my ministry, but it is only a gateway to the real ministry, and that is showing my students the love of the Father.
That is just a short update on what’s been going on! I can’t wait to share about Cambodia!
Much love,
Sabrina
