Lately God has been convicting me for being a thermometer, not a thermostat.

And what I mean by that is this:

The role of a thermometer is to read the temperature of the room and display that; to be the temperature of the room.

The role of the thermostat is to changethe temperature of the room. If the room is too hot, it cools it down; if it’s too cold, it heats it up.

I think it is so easy to get caught up in doing or thinking how everyone else in the room acts or thinks.

I am about to start a whole different season in a whole new country. It’s my last country before I return home; the last final stretch of the Race.

Most Racers during this time find it hard to stay focused and present on the Race with home being so near. It’s also easy for most Racers to get burnt out right about now.
With the majority thinking this, I subconsciously assumed that the second half of my trip will be harder than the first. Harder to stay focused and harder to enjoy.

But that’s when I heard God whispering to me, “Sabrina, your last half of the Race can be better than the first… You just have to be obedient to me.”

That’s when I realized that I was reading the temperature of the majority, and automatically claiming it for myself. But God desires of me to change the temperature of the room; to change those mindsets and encourage and uplift people out the mental fog of going home soon and of weariness.

This is just a very short blog of what God is teaching me as I walk into a whole new season. More blogs to come!
I love and miss you all,

Sabrina
