Okay, so since being accepted and telling one and all that I would be apart of the World Race Gap Year, I have been met with every question you could think of. The questions that I heard most often asked were 1.) So you’re not going to finish college? 2.) If you don’t raise the money what are you going to do?

Well I am here to answer and provide a tad bit of insight on what’s been going on in my life here the past few weeks. First of all to answer the first question, I never planned on not finishing school, honestly I love learning and acquire new knowledge about all kinds of things, so in short my goal has always been to finish college.

Okay now to the 2nd question and honestly I have been dreading this blog for a few weeks, so I did not make my deadlines to be able to participate in this years World Race. For awhile I was bummed, I know that God has other plans for my year even if I don’t see them that’s okay because I trust His good and sovereign hand. (I know God is in total control over my life but it is still a tad sad that I won’t get to go now, but patience is something I need improvement on.) Now before anyone calls me freaking out wondering where their money is going fret not loved ones, I have just been differed a year, so I have another year to fundraise so any money donated just rolls over!

I have been told a lot here recently that “God has us where God wants us. He may have taken us down one path just to quickly turn us down another path, but wherever we are is no accident or simple ‘coincidence.’ So just be joyous wherever you are and boldly and proudly give the season the Lord has put you in to glorify Him.” I struggle sometimes thinking that missions is a thing you have to go away to do but lately, like waves, its washing over me that I am on missions every second of my life as a follower of Christ. Psalms 96:3 says “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among ALL the peoples!” Not to the people who live in a different state, a different country, or a different continent, but to ALL of the people excluding no one. So as I stay stateside this year I will remember that because Jesus loves me I will love His people so they may come to know Him and His perfect love.

Thank you for reading about my crazy adventure.

Much Love, and even more Jesus!

Rylie

P.S. I just wanted to say in 3 months I raised $5,000 dollars it may not have been everything I needed but it sure was appreciated and a gift given from God!
