Hello readers. Another list for you. I wrote this one in Thailand. This list is composed of traits or characteristics that I find are pretty cool in people. This is not a comprehensive list by any measure and at times may seem frustratingly vague, yet its core intention is to provide simple thought and pleasure. 

60 traits of pretty cool people follows. Enjoy.

1. When you have lost something they genuinely help you look for it.

2. They take up new hobbies or learn more about something to better connect with you.

3. They ask questions-that bring joy, make you ponder, you cause you to ask yourself more questions.

4. They call you out, out of the care they have for you.

5. Can get ready to go anywhere quickly.

6. Have boundaries for themselves. 

7. Knows the balance between asking for help and persevering on their own.

8. Enjoys trying and learning new things. 

9. A developed intra-personal communicator.

10. Goes places, does things just to do them. Not to post on social media, or in attempt to impress others. In the moment people.

11. Picks/laughs at themselves in a healthy yet truthful manner.

12. Balances empathizing and feeling pain for and with others while not letting others dictate their mood or who they are.

13. Respects and values other peoples time. An on time person.

14. Aware of social dynamics in group settings and takes the self-less path many a time.

15. Gives compliments that make you aware they notice you and see the potential in you.

16. Loves bragging in small but clear doses about the love they have for their significant others, children or dear friends.

17. Passionate about an injustice.

18. Admits when they are wrong or even when someone tells them they are wrong.

19. If you checked their finances for the past 6 months, you would think it was pretty cool.

20. They have a few very close friends, preferably of the same sex, where freaky secrets are not really a thing. They walk through all parts of life with these individuals-and do not easily lose sight of the value of these relationships.

21. They do cool stuff when they are by themselves or not for an audience.

22. Forgives. Really forgives.

23. Does things for people who will probably never be able to do anything in return. 

24. Realizes that they are a dirty, broken sinner. Realizes their nothingness before God. Forgets sometimes, but remembers.

25. Struggles at life sometimes. Falls hard sometimes.

26. Choices love and faith even when feelings for these wonder away.

27. When they say they are going to do something. You believe them. And they do it.

28. Fights to do stuff even when looking like a fool or feeling embarrassed is inevitable.

29. Makes goals. Has vision. Writes them down.

30. Takes care of their body.

31. Call you. Even if you have not talked in a long time.

32. Lives into the Sabbath. A day of rest. Whatever rest looks like for them. Pizza, football, nap? Mmmm.

33. Takes steps out of their comfort zone. Keeps walking in some of these steps.

34. Sees who their parents were in their life, not who they were not.

35. Attempts not to tell white lies, or exaggerate the truth. When they remember they lied they tell you. Yes, awkward. But they do it.

36. Respects, appreciates, and enjoys silence.

37. Takes their turn driving. Chips in for gas money. You dont have to remind them to pay you back.

38. Discerning assertiveness. 

39. Says what they believe even if it is not the popular voice in the room.

40. Gives thanks and glory to God no matter where they are at in life.

41. Humble leader. Willing to follow.

42. Remembers details you told them about yourself.

43. Says no.

44. Seeks to grow as a person through community. 

45. Strong and efficient work ethic.

46. Fights the tendency to rely on other mere humans for worth and identity.

47. Not annoying. 

48. Spends time alone.

49. Cherishes memories and making memories with people close to them.

50. Has a polished sense of humor. Knowing when, where and how to use it. Sometimes pushes these limits.

51. Can have intelligent and respectful yet authentic conversations about controversial topics.

52. Eats things when they are too hot and continually burns their tongue. Never really learns this lesson.

53. You feel comfortable taking them to any social gathering and do not feel the need to entertain them or always be by their side.

54. The person you talk about ‘what if we…’ or general future scenarios for too long. Tends to end quite weirdly.

55. Person 8/10 is down to eat/make food with you.

56. You can be productive separately while you are with them (homework, work, chores, nap, workout).

57. Gets to the right level of competitiveness while playing sports or games. Might cross this line once in a while.

58. Ambitious about things they want to accomplish in life.

59. Values people. Believes in the worth of all people.

60. You like who you are when you are with them.
