As most of you already know, I will be leaving in August to serve and bring the good news of Jesus to 11 different countries over an 11 month period. This is an amazing opportunity for me and I am beyond excited. So why am I doing this?
About 3 years ago I surrendered to Jesus. I accepted Him as Lord of my life and gave Him complete control. Which means, I must commit to a life that glorifies Him. I must be obedient to His word (The Bible). Mark 16:15 says to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. That’s reason number one.
Here’s reason number two. There are about 16,000 people groups in our world. 7,000 of those are unreached. Which means they have never heard the Gospel of Jesus, nor do they know anyone who has heard it. Over one-third of our planet has NO IDEA that they can have ETERNAL LIFE through FAITH in JESUS CHRIST! That is extremely tragic…..it shatters my heart. The ONLY way to heaven is through Jesus. That is a FACT weather you believe it or not. Because of this fact, there are millions and millions of people who have no idea they are headed straight for hell. So back to my question. Why am I doing this?
I am doing this because I can not sit back and enjoy this beautiful life Jesus has given me while ONE-THIRD of our planet has no idea they are about to spend eternity in hell. ATTENTION CHRISTIANS! It’s up to us to go tell them. It’s up to us to send missionaries so the whole word can hear the good news. This is serious business and it’s URGENT! John Piper has a wonderful quote about missions. He says,
” There are 3 types of Christians, zealous goers, zealous senders, and disobedient.”
I’ll finish with reason number three. I am doing this because the God who created the universe and everything in it, loves me. Jesus is God, and He came from heaven to earth to die for my sins. John 3:16 says
““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
I believe because I’ve heard The Good News. Now I must go and tell others, so they too, can hear, and have a relationship with Jesus. It is not an easy life, but it’s undeniably beautiful.
