Halfway Done! Here’s a quick update of what I’ve been doing.

(What Gods been doing!)

Month 1- El Salvador:

I learned so much about what it looks like to be “the church” and live in community. This was an incredible month of ministry. We were preaching almost every day, teaching English and discipling church members. We were also able to complete a church project. Week 1 we began clearing land for a church soccer field. It was hard work, but we were able to finish and even host an event where 75 people heard the Gospel. We also did prostitution ministry where ironically a bunch of men showed up for the food, I was able to share my testimony and the Gospel with them.

I began to really understand what it meant to be in constant contact with God. I heard His voice like never before and experienced the spiritual gifts of prophecy and visions.

Month 2-Guatemala:

Wow! This was an absolutely incredible month, full of adventure and intimacy with God. I was put into a classroom at an English school to teach kids English. I learned so much about allowing God to be strong where I am weak. I am not a teacher, but The Holy Spirit gave me strength daily. Being filled with the spirit I was able to think quickly and adapt to everything thrown at me. It was a challenge but with God all things are possible! I learned how to create ministry in every day situations, and that no task is too big or scary with God.

Month 3-Honduras:

This was the toughest month so far. I did everything from sorting books in a library to making bracelets at a special needs school. Most of the time I would be placed alone in a classroom of 25 kids. They didn’t speak much English, and my job was to teach them for 8 hours. Sometimes with no lesson plans I’d have to teach these kids math, English, reading and science! I don’t have a teaching degree! BUT GOD, always comes through!

Don’t ever doubt God friends! I experienced Him like never before one day when I was able to bring order to a rowdy class, and successfully teach them each subject. This wasn’t always the case, so I grew a lot in patience and finding peace in the midst of chaos. I also learned a lot about fighting for my team as a leader.

Month 4-Nicaragua:

The most beautiful month so far! I was working on a plantain and lime tree farm, which was absolutely filling. Other than farming we would walk the streets evangelizing, praying for healing and bringing encouragement in Jesus name. We saw many baptisms and healings. I was also able to share my testimony to around 50 men in the middle of a prison cell! I heard these men worship and cry out to God so loud it literally shook the walls. I learned about serving out of overflow, that I must be filled up so much with the spirit that it overflows into those around me.

Month 5-Côte d’Ivoire:

Every day my team and I would go to the ports, where Muslim truckers from north and west Africa wait for their shipments. We would fearlessly bring the good news of Jesus to Muslims! This was truly a dream come true, sharing the Gospel with people who have never heard it. It was such a blessing! We shared the gospel with hundreds of Muslims and about 50 surrendered their lives to Christ! Hallelujah! I learned so much about evangelizing and keeping the gospel simple. I learned to simply say the gospel and allow God to do the rest. No debating, just simply sharing truth out of love.

Month 6-Ghana:

Halfway done with this incredible journey! If I had to describe this month in one word I’d say intimacy!!!! Wow! I’ve had so absolutely incredible moments with God. We’ve been doing church projects like painting curbs, and creating an entire year long curriculum for the children’s ministry. We also take a half day to walk to streets and see where the Lord leads us. There has been so much fruit come out of this and a lot of discipleship! I’ve been working on a men’s night which hasn’t happened yet but I will keep you posted. I’ve learned a lot about the true power of prayer, seeking God in decision making and experienced the spiritual gifts of leadership and shepherding. This month the Lord has lit a burning passion for men’s ministry in me and it’s been incredible allowing Him to work through me in this.

Coming soon-Nepal!!!

Keep us in your prayers as we finish up in Ghana and prepare for travel to Southeast Asia!
