Here it is y’all, my squad! These are the people I will be spending my life with throughout the next year. We are humble, compassionate, generous, encouraging and fun. We love Jesus, we love people and we love to dance. (Well some of us do) haha.
In just 10 days I fell in love with these people. That is truly an act of God. It usually takes me years to love the way I love these brothers and sisters. It’s genuine, true and definitely from God.
A few months ago I was wondering if this was really what God had called me to do. I was under attack and full of doubt, so I prayed for guidance and discernment. Shortly after that, a song came on the radio, and I felt the presence of The Lord upon me. The lyrics hit me like never before and I instantly thought of my squad and our upcoming journey. These lyrics took hold of me:
“Love will hold us together
Make us a shelter weather the storm
And I’ll be my brothers keeper
So the whole world will know that we’re not alone”
Right then and there I felt an undeniable love for these people I had never met. The Lord confirmed my calling, and once again God showed up!
It was confirmed again at training. Within 24 hours I felt like I had known these people for years. It was an unfamiliar feeling, but extremely peaceful.
ACTS 2:42-47
“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper ), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity — all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”
This scripture is the church.
This scripture is how we spent our 10 days together.
This scripture is the will of God.
This scripture is my prayer. Not just for my squad but for the church as a whole.
We are the body of Christ, let’s start living like it. My prayer is that we will carry on living like this. Not just for 11 months but for the rest of our lives.
So that’s my squad! They’re awesome! We will travel to each country together then split up into 4 teams.

This is my team. Meet team lighthouse!
We have been described as calm and we feel safe around each other. Which is where we got our name. We value prayer and we are super chill! I believe we are all in agreement that God orchestrated this team to be together. We are calm and safe, but throughout this 11 months we will be taking dangerous risks in the name of Jesus! I am beyond excited for this journey.
My squad/team are all very different and have a variety of different gifts to offer. We are ready to let our lights shine all over this dark world. We will be the light. The light that guides the “lost at sea” to the calm and safe place that is, Jesus.
“I won’t fear what tomorrow brings
With each morning I’ll rise and sing
My God’s love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
My lighthouse, my lighthouse
Shining in the darkness, I will follow You
My lighthouse, my lighthouse
I will trust the promise
You will carry me safe to shore.”
