Cool update on this video! There is a guy named Dino that walked by during the filming of this video. Little did I know, he sat down to listen in. At the end of it, he caught me by surprise and said, “That’s all so true my man.” This led to me sitting down with him and having a conversation about what was said in this video and about his life. He let me in on the fact that he is a member of the 27’s (one of the few gangs here). He also told me he has a couple kids and a girlfriend he tries to take care of. He then let me pray for him. As we were about to part ways, he asked me if I could buy him some food, and I said absolutely. As we started to walk toward the grociery store, he tapped me on the shoulder, pulled his pipe that he used to smoke weed with out of his pocket, and threw it at the ground smashing it. So cool! We then walked into the closest grocery store, and he tells me that his main need is diapers and baby formula for his newborn. So, we went over and got him those items. I automatically assumed we would go get food him food as well but he was so humble and unassuming that he insisted that the baby diapers and the formula was enough. However, I am more stubborn so we got him some food too :). After paying, we exchanged a few more words, hugged, and then parted ways.
I share this to say, how cool is it that God wrecked him so much that he threw his pipe on the ground and shattered it! And how cool is it that God will send people to us without us even trying to reach them. It’s humbling to know that God trusts me with those kind of encounters. Yay God!!!
