This last week all of the world racers on the september squad have been staying at an organization called KIM in the philippines. We have been shown great hospatility and been taken care of tremendously here. Basically, the last week has been preparing us for the ministry field. We have been listening to sermons from the directors, reading the bible, working out, and spending time in the community building relationships. Today, all of the squads except two are leaving this ministry and moving to different parts of the country. My team is one of the teams that will be staying where we are right now with the organization of KIM. The work that will be assigned to us starts tomorrow. I believe we will be sorting library books and helping build a library that is on site. Jeff Long, the sponsor, has been doing a whole lot around the communtiy. He has built a few buildings around this community for the people to worship and come to know God. Right down the street is a school that he has helped start. He is in the process of building a four story library that has air conditioner, books, a computer lab, and a place for children to play. He is also in the process of building a swimming pool, workout center, and more housing for orphans to stay in. There is a place right across the street that is called the Childrens home. It offers a place for children to be taken care of that do not have lost their parents in some way. Jeff is in the process of offering more housing for the orphans who are becoming teenagers and adults so they do not feel so young anymore. It is kind of like they are graduating from middle school to high school or college. In this home, they are able to watch movies, play pool, learn how to cook and much more. We will be doing a lot of work with all of this over the next month. The thing that God has showed me most since we have been here are all the smiles on peoples faces. Most of them are always laughing and smiling. The kids come up to us in the street wanting to give us high fives and wanting to take pictures with us!
