India has been a great month. We have been seeing God at work in India! I have probably prayed for over 500 people in the last 2 weeks. If not 500 then pretty close to it. This week we are having a revival meeting at the mother church where we are singing, sharing testimonies, and praying for more people. I want to tell you a little about the people I prayed for today. I had some crazy experiences.
The first person I prayed for was a kid that is about 10 years old. He is blind in both eyes. We were able to pray for him with the spirit flowing through us. We had all the children, about 50, surround him as we prayed for his sight to be restored. And let me tell you that the Holy Spirit was in that powerful prayer. After lifting our requests up to God the kid told us how many fingers the translator was holding up!!! He said that his sight was better after we prayed for him. He still has to get really close to what he is looking at but he can now make out what he sees when he gets close to someone!!! I am believing his sight will be completely restored this year! So if you are pondering about what to pray for you can thank God for healing his eye sight by the end of the year!
The next encounter I had was with about 100 people. We went downstairs and there were so many people waiting on us to pray for them. Most of them were sick in some way and I ran into some women who were demon possessed. Let me tell you that casting out demons is all new to me. I have heard and read a lot about people having demons in them and other casting them out. However, until 2 weeks ago I had never prayed for a demon to leave someone. Let me tell you about the experience two weeks ago really quick before I tell you what happened today.
Two weeks ago, the same day we were praying for the paralyzed man, we went to a village and encountered a lady who was demon possessed. This was my first encounter with someone openly admitting she had demons in her. She stood up and started crying while she explained in her language what was going on. Our translator then told us she said she has a demon in her that makes her yell and cry uncontrollably at random times. So after we heard about this we started praying for her for about 15 minutes. During prayer we used the authority that Jesus gave us to call the demon out of her and cast it out. About 5 minutes into the prayer the lady fell to the ground, hit her head on the floor, and was unconscious for a while. The demon had thrown her to the ground. When we finished praying that the demon would leave her she woke up with pain running through her body. So we then started praying that the pain would go away. Let me tell you, when we were done praying for that lady we saw her totally in peace with herself. The demon had left her body and was not allowed to come back into her. She had a presence of peace coming off of her that was pretty much tangible.
Now let me tell you about today. A lady came up to me for prayer. As usual I asked the translator what she needed prayer for. She said she was demon possessed and had been dealing with evil spirit’s a lot lately. The demon would send her into fits. So I said ok and started praying with the power of the Holy Spirit. While I was praying for the lady she all of the sudden collapsed. I tried to catch her but her body was dead weight in my hands so I decided to lay her down on the ground while I continued to pray for her. I kept asking God to heal her of these fits and continued commanding the demons to leave her body.
After about 5 minutes she was still unconscious and her friends drug her behind the crowd of people standing in front of me to be prayed for. So I went to her and spoke life into her body. Then they requested that I come back and pray for the other 80 people that were waiting to receive prayer. So I went and prayed for them and when I was finished praying for people her friends brought that lady back up to me and she was still unconscious. So I immediately started praying again. In the name of Jesus I command you to leave demons!! You have no authority over this woman’s body and I command you to leave. God thank you for healing this woman!! After a couple of minutes the lady started going into one of her fits. She started wailing her arms everywhere almost hitting me and some others. Then she started hitting herself.
I knew at this moment the demon still had control over her. I told the translator to tell her to start speaking the name of Jesus. She wouldn’t do it for a while but after a while she started praying out loud. While she was praying she was not having fits anymore but at the end of the prayer I could look into her eyes and tell that the demon was still in her. God told me to tell her to repent of her sins. But the translator would not tell her to repent for a while. I had to pretty much argue with him to tell her that. I knew that was what God was telling me to tell her and so finally after a while the translator told her. She then told him that she already had repented but was still controlled by these evil spirits. I urged her to repent but she would not so I prayed one more time to the father for this lady and went on my way. I was exhausted by this point and from the looks of it I was not getting anywhere with this lady. However, I know my prayers were heard by God and He did a work in her. She says she is a believer and she would die for Jesus so I trust that God is going to heal her!
That was just a few of my experiences in India! God is moving in India!!
