I want to take some time to write to you about some of the things on my heart. Before writing this I prayed that this blog would impact each one of you and that this letter would be written by the Holy Spirit and not me. I want you all to know what is going through my mind right now as I travel on a bus from one location to the next.
This year I have seen poverty like I have never ever seen before. I have been with people that have asked me for 10 cents because that was a lot to them. 10 cents could buy them a mango that would nourish their body. I was asked just yesterday if I would buy a banana for a guy because he was hungry. Being honest with you I ignored the guy and kept walking. I get asked by many people every single day to give the something. I could have done something for this guy but I didn’t unfortunately and now I regret it. The one mango or banana might have been all that they have to eat for the next two days because they are poorer than poor. I have walked into a community that uses trash and sticks to build their homes. While I was there one guy fell to the ground because of his hunger. We were able to provide food for this community that will last them for about a week!
I have helped build a house that is around the size of a 12×10 room. This house was being built to provide more room because the family had a baby on the way. There is now a family of four living in that house and the houses that are around them are even smaller than that. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a kid that lived on the streets pick up a juice box off of the ground that had a little bit of juice left in it. He turned the juice box upside down and drank the juice left in it to the last drop. There are people living in this world that are poor. Jesus instructs us as the body of Christ to feed the hungry and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
I have heard about little girls and boys as young as one year old being sold into prostitution. These kids are raped and used their entire lives and don’t know anything else. The devil grabs them and torments them for as long as he can. Lucifer is at work and he wants to add to his kingdom. These people are scared and helpless! It breaks my heart to even think of someone that would buy a kid for sick reasons. I pray that these people involved in the human trafficking will be thrown in jail for the rest of their pitiful lives. I also pray that they will receive the gift of salvation and they make a difference for Jesus the rest of their days on this earth. I pray that God will wreck their world and they will fall in love with God.
While I was in Cambodia I saw kids on the street that were sold into slavery. These kids were bought by people to work the streets for them. Some were sold into prostitution and others were working the streets begging for money. I personally witnessed to one of the johns that was overseeing the kids on the street. I talked to him two times and each time the Holy Spirit was speaking powerful words through me. I actually built a really good relationship with this guy who was a Buddhist but searching for Christianity.
I know many people who claim to be Christians. There are only a handful of these people that I know that are doing something as their part of the body of Christ. You know if you are doing something to help God accomplish his purposes. If you think about it and you are one that is not doing anything to help then please do your part as the body. I would love to see a revolution take place in this world. I would love to see the body of Christ acting as one body. I want to see the body of Christ working so strongly that no one will be able to stop it from doing Gods business. I challenge you to start doing your part in the body. Seek God on what He wants you to do. God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide our lives and that is a promise. Now I have a question for everyone that is still reading this letter. Will you let the spirit guide your life? Will you go feed the hungry? Will you work for justice? Will you love your neighbor? Will you go out of your way to help someone in need? Will you take on another believer’s burden to help them? It is not easy to do these things but it is rewarding. You will have to work towards doing this. It is something I have to work on every single day.
Let us all be unified in Christ Jesus. Let’s all start acting instead of just talking. Time is running out! God will be coming back soon as He promised. Let’s pick up our cross and carry it. I challenge you to live your life in a radical way for Christ Jesus. I challenge you to live in a way that people will notice Jesus living in you and flowing out of you. Let God fill you with His love! Now my question to you is Will you make an impact in this world?
