Yesterday,
Team S.E.E.D.S. showed up for duty at the construction site.
Immediately we were put to work painting the trusses (metal bars that
hold the roof up). While getting thoroughly covered in red paint, we
learned the back story on the church we were helping to construct.
Bishop Moses (our incredible ministry host) had started preaching there
14 years ago. Since then, the church has grown to over 700 members!
However the current building they are using cannot hold that many
people. Several members dispersed to different smaller churches; all the
while, hoping to get back to their church family at New Life Mission
Kwanza. Once this large enough building is constructed, it will become
the central hub for all the New Life Mission churches in the Kitale
area.

In Africa, they build as they have the money to do so. Several church
members have volunteered to complete the work as they are provided with
the needed supplies. We had the opportunity to interact with several of
them who were painting and installing trusses. They broke ground about 3
years ago and have made minimal progress thus far due to lack of
funding.  The walls are standing and the freshly painted trusses were
put up yesterday. The most expensive and invaluable part of the project
is the tin roof.  It will cost approximately $2500 to purchase the tin
sheets for the roof.

We would love to be able to bless this church by getting them the funds
to finally finish this important church building. This month has
touched all of our teams’ hearts in a special way. Bishop Moses and his
family have become like our family and we really want to be able to help
them in this very tangible way. Not only will this bless their family
but will make a huge impact on reaching the city of Kitale for Christ.
We truly believe in their vision for this church and how it is going to
help further the Kingdom.
