Ah North Sumatra, an island of the country of Indonesia! It’s a different world here.

You’ll be able to get a glimpse into our 49-hour travel today in the little video below, man it was long but so worth it. After pulling up to the property of our mission host, a mission training centre/school that also works with sustainable agriculture, we were immediately greeted by all the students performing a traditional welcome dance. If there is any part of the culture here that stands out it is being authentic and incredibly welcoming. Also, the children here are so invested in what God has for them, every morning at 5 am we are woken up by the praise and worship of 40 students singing at the top of their lungs. (Oh, and by the way, it sounds AMAZING) It is obvious that God is always enough for these amazing people, and it makes us want to be a better example of God’s love.

So what are we doing here? We are teaching daily English lessons to students and the community, leading Bible study lessons each morning, joining in on worship, loving getting to know the students, and enjoying every second of it! More to come soon on a day in the life here on the Island…

If you want to pray for us specifically pray that we will be able to impact these students and the community despite the language barrier.
