Hello from Nias!

Everything here is going great, English classes are a huge success and we have been able to build strong relationships with many of the students. Because this training center is a boarding school, it’s a tight knit group and is a shining example of community in Christ, below you can see some of the girls or “chicas” as they’ve been calling each other since we taught them that word.

Every day we learn something new about this amazing ministry, and every day God challenges us to go deeper with Him. Lately we have felt called to spend more time in prayer…

On that note we have a prayer request for everyone; on Monday one of our students named Tiawon got a visit from her brother after class. He came to let her know that their mother had passed away; it was clear that this was definitely unexpected.

Tiawon was devastated and the rest of the girls kicked it into high gear; they were immediately clustered around her and before we knew it they were all praying over her. Prayer here is always followed by singing a worship song so they did just that. Gathering together under the roof of our open air class room they showed us exactly what it looks like to worship God in the middle of a storm. Tiawon sang at the top of her lungs along with the rest of the students.

Seeing this has reminded us that in the uncertainty of this life it is vital that we have certainty in Gods perfect plan, and that no matter what happens His love never changes.

Thanks for keeping Tiawon in your prayers this week, talk to y’all again soon! The count down is on, off to the Philippines in 5 days…time is flying over here and we are truly enjoying the ride.

Love, Meg and Ry
