This week I’m writing about something a bit different. Since I’ve been on The Race I’ve started asking God the question “WHY?” more than ever before. There have definitely been some moments on this journey where I’ve asked THAT question in pure frustration/confusion. However, not in a prideful manner but simply because I seek understanding. I truly desire to see life through Gods eyes. So to do that I’m reading His Word and seeking Understanding by asking the simple question “Why?”

Proverbs 2 “incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding.”

Below is an example of me SEEKING to see life through God’s eyes. I wasn’t going to post this but a buddy on my squad told me to share it. So here we go!

I’ve never enjoyed the presence of insects, I often view them as an annoyance. However; as I was reading one evening I noticed the sound of fluttering wings and insects banging against my window. I turned the light off and within seconds there was complete silence. I sat down in the silence ands asked God “why are these bugs so in love with my window?”…  A few moments later God revealed an important lesson to me.

God created insects with a desire to be near “light”. They will attempt to break through any barrier to touch the “light” and even die trying! Most insects don’t want to roam in the darkness, they would rather seek the light!

As humans we have this same desire but on a spiritual level. God is the brightest “light” in existence… He actually created it. Therefore, If we truly love him first, then we will put every ounce of our energy into being near His “light”. Lastly the coolest thing about this process is that when we draw to the light, spiritually we become BRIGHT LIGHTS ourselves and others seeking Gods “light” draw near us.

It’s truly amazing how God designed nature to reflect upon his teachings. There are probably a hundred more lessons He will teach me through nature this year. All I have to do is SEEK!

Lastly I thought I would post a few cool pictures from a hiking adventure some of us took on our day off in Lezhe!
