This past weekend, L.O. spent a couple days in Johannesburg as a kind of last hurrah before one of our teammates, Brienna, left the race.

We spent one afternoon at ‘The Lion Park’ where we got to pet little lion cubs.

And they had a little game drive you could do. And on that we saw various animals; including white lions.

We ate at a restaurant called ‘Carnivore’. They specialize in serving rare game meats. We had gemsbok, impala, crocodile, wildebeest and ostrich.

We also went to see ‘The Lion King’.

Our time here in Rustenburg is coming to a quick close. It doesn’t seem like we’ve spent a month here.

I’m excited to move onto Asia, but I am going to miss playing with these kids at the shelter. It’s been crazy to hear some of their stories and how the came to the shelter, and how some of them have already overcome incredible odds.

Looking back on the month here, it’s easy to feel like I didn’t do a whole lot of worthwhile stuff. I know that’s a feeling that I need to continue to rebuke though. But it’s been a good relaxed month. Good for me especially I think, as I’ve been kind of feeling burned out of ministry lately.

I think the biggest thing that any of you that read this can pray for me about is…that my head will continue to remain here on this trip. I know of one reason why I’m excited to get back to the states, but other than that…i don’t know why it’s on my mind so much! I’m in freakin Africa, and going to be in Asia within the week!!! Why am I thinking about life back home??? I mean seriously?? So yeah, if you wouldn’t mind just pray that my heart stays with me here on the field in these last few months.
