I’ve got a lot of pictures that I uploaded yesterday…but they are all of different and random things. So I’m just going to make a nice big conglomeration of my best shots of the last week or so. A “Week In Review” if you will.

Ok…so maybe they’re not all…super good shots…but they are kind of a week in review still.

That first picture was Meagan and Chris during worship in the youth service we did on the 24th.

On our day off on the 26th, some of us went down to the beach and rented some surfboards. I actually did go out and try it for an hour or so. I didn’t do very well. I actually never got up on my feet…but I attribute it to the fact that I still wasn’t over my sickness yet and was still rather lacking on the energy level. My arms just weren’t working, and you need your arms for surfing.

At church on the night of the 25th (they do their sunday service at 6pm) Andrew preached the sermon. I honestly don’t remember what it was about (whoops) but I just asked Jimmy, and he reminded me that it was about grace and getting what we don’t deserve. We deserve death, but yet Jesus came to give us life to the full.

Wednesday night, we had a prayer service for the pastor mostly. It was pretty intense. They did some Jericho-esque stuff in that they walked around the whole congregation while praying. But this picture is of a small group of people (including Jon, Talia & Morgan) walking and praying around the pastor.

We spoke in three different schools this past week. Did pretty much the same thing as the first two we went to: did some skits, a song or two and boldly told them the gospel. And believe it or not…I was actually the one to give the gospel at each of the three schools. Pretty cool eh!?

This is at the first school. Thank you Jimmy for taking this of me. (That’s Mary translating for me.)

At the third school (it was two schools the first day, and this one was the next day) we had a lot of time to mingle with the kids. This is just a picture of some of them with Hannah.

This is a girl from that third school.

This is the top of the discoteca that is directly across the street from the house we are staying in. Thankfully it is only open on Saturday nights. And I just found out last night that ‘El Hueco’ means ‘The Hole.’…………….Interesting.

This is Amalia reading some scriptures to our new friend Elsa, in Lomo de Corvina.

This is Elsa.

This is Ana’s baby. Ana is one of Elsa’s friends we met one day. (Read Talia’s blog titled “Elsa’s Pain”. She talks about Elsa & Ana)

Two of our translators…Robert & Jorge. Our 5 translators (also Mary, Amalia & Dana) have been wonderful. They go with us everywhere and come translate for us whenever we need them. They have been a huge blessing to all of us.

So in the last week we have gone to Lomo de Corvina maybe 4 or 5 times, and just met new people and revisiting people that we already know. Talia, Amalia and I have been going back to two houses consistently. At one we’ve gotten to know Zoila & Yesenia (sisters) and Kathy (Yesenia’s daughter). Then also Elsa and Ana on the other side of Lomo. We’ve shared the gospel in 3 different schools to hundreds, maybe even a thousand kids…and a lot of them raised their hands and prayed the prayer to accept Christ.

We’ve been involved in a few of the church services here. Just last night we had a youth service in an ampitheather in a park. Did some dramas and testimonies and songs. I held the big halogen light most of the time. 🙂 We met and talked and shared Jesus and testimonies with some street kids one night. We visited a church bible study. It’s been good.

And personally…just know that I am doing really well. I don’t know if it is a result of starting back up with some prozac or because of consistent prayer every morning…I’m not sure why, but I am doing well and in good spirits.
