I’ve got some more pictures of a few different events of the last four days. Not enough to give each their own blog, so here’s another conglomerate blog.

Brienna met a girl at church named Katiya, who ended up inviting our whole team over for desert one night. One night led to a second night. Her mom makes this AWESOME desert called Winter Cake. It’s made with gelatin and these vainilla crackers and other stuff, but it’s so good.

This is just a picture from the trunk of the car on the way to their house.

This is Katiya on the left and her mother the amazing cook. They’re family was great. We all hit it off really well. Lots of laughs.

Our last service at Iglesia Shalom (the church we worked with all month) was this past Sunday. It was kinda sad to have finally arrived at our last service with them. They have been SOOO welcoming and loving, and the servant hearts of these people is incredible! Often serving us 3 meals a day and going with us to Lomo and the schools. They have been a huge blessing and will be greatly missed.

They called all of us WR’s to stand up in front so they could give us some gifts and pray for us. They gave us all knit winter hats that say PERU on them.

After that they started one receiving line thing for everyone to come through and say goodbye to us and all that. After about 5 minutes of that, a second line of people came through…..from the opposite direction. We had people come from both directions reaching across one another to shake our hand or to grab a hug. It was funny!

This is Talia…who during the service wanted me to take a picture of her, and look at it to see how her lip gloss looked. 😉 …….not a bad shot though eh

Last night my team and team 61 put on a dinner party for our host family. Some of the girls went out and bought a bunch of food and made a meal of a chicken nugget hors d’ouvres, veggie platter, chips and pop,  macaroni & cheese casserole and then an ice cream sundae!! They put on a game of ‘Pin the tail on the donkey’, I showed a slideshow of the best shots I took here in Peru. It was a great night of fun and being able to at least somewhat express our gratitude to this family.

This is all of us minus katie and dana. Plus another part of the family that doesn’t live there.
