We’ve been continuing our church plant work up in Lomo de Corvina.

Talia, Amalia (translator) and I have continued to go back to two families. One is a couple of sisters, Zoila & Yesenia and Yesenia’s daughters Kathy and Kelly. We just go back there and chat with them about what’s going on with them. We talk about the Bible  and how they are doing with all that. Because the first day we visited them, Amalia and I prayed for them to accept Christ. The other day we just visited them again before Zoila and Kathy had to head to school.

Before I say anything else, I want to say that Amalia (and all of our translatorsfor that matter) have been wonderful! Amalia has a great heart and is so spunky. But her mission heart has been invaluable when we’ve been talking with these families.

We’ve also been meeting with Elsa and some of her family and friends that happen to be over at her house when we stop by. She’s a sweet lady that reminds me a lot of my neighbor Diane. She was involved in somekind of accident a year ago, and thus has a difficult time getting around. She also apparently has bad eyesight, because she told us that she wasn´t able to read her bible because of her eyes.

So the other day, Talia had brought up some Bibles that had been given to her…and we were reminded of the fact that her eyes were bad. I remembered that the tiny little Bible that I have been using has a magnifying glass with it. I offered it to her if it would help. and she tried it and what do you know…she can read her bible now! Hallelujah!

Also, during this last visit, there was a neighbor girl there visiting and keeping Elsa company. Her name was Ciomara. She’s 8 I think. We were talking to her some too, and Amalia starting talking to her a lot. And prayed for her to receive Christ. !!! Just in the 20 minutes or so that Amalia was talking with her and hearing how she was answering things and just watching her demeanor and all that…I had a pretty strong feeling that God has some REALLY great things in store for this girl. I dont know if it prophetic or anything, but I felt and shared this with her, “I feel that you have a very strong spirit. That you can do whatever you want in life. The sky is the limit for you. I encourage you learn as much as you can about the Bible and Jesus Christ and let God do with you what he wants. Cuz I feel that he might have some very big things in store for you.”

However true that is or not, I’d never had such a strong feeling about someone that I just met.
